For anyone facing mobility challenges, the ability to travel freely and independently is life-changing. Trevor Robinson, an aircraft engineer from Germany, knows this firsthand. After being diagnosed with MS, he struggled with mobility and found that traditional scooters were limiting—especially when traveling by air. That’s when he discovered the ATTO mobility scooter from Movinglife.
Designed for travelers, the ATTO SPORT gave Trevor back his freedom, allowing him to explore cities, visit iconic landmarks, and navigate airports with ease. In this blog, he shares how the ATTO mobility scooter has transformed his life and why it stands out from other mobility solutions.
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Trevor Robinson and I live inBaltzhausen, Germany. I have worked as an aircraft engineer for 34 years. I have lived in various cities including Dubai. I love travelling and spending time with my wife (especially while traveling).
What led you to consider getting a mobility scooter?
15 years ago, I was diagnosed with MS, the R&R type, which is a variation of the disease that while it does not get progressively worse, it can act up and have an episode at any time. This disease has made my general walking more difficult and limits my ability to walk long distances.
How did you first hear about Movinglife and the ATTO mobility scooters?
I already had a mobility scooter from another brand. I was going on a trip with my wife to another country in Europe and at the airport, they told me that my scooter, because of the battery, cannot go on the plane and I was forced to leave it behind. This made my trip extremely difficult and really unpleasant. At that point I decided that this will never happen again. So my wife started researching the best mobility scooters for travel and we came across the ATTO SPORT. After I purchased it, I purchased a few accessories to help make travel easier and make it a bit more comfortable for myself and the rest is as they say, history.
Which Movinglife scooter do you own, and why did you choose that specific model?
I purchased the ATTO SPORT. Based on all the research, it was the best fit for me to travel by airplane and bring to any city that I was going to. It provided me with the most functionalities and its safety features, including the wide rear-wheels and its speed were exactly what I needed. After researching and then driving the ATTO SPORT, it was clear that for city driving this mobility scooter is in a class of its own!
What stood out to you about Movinglife compared to other mobility scooter brands?
The engineering and design.Being an engineer, I look at the details of the scooters and try to understand how it works and what else can be done. When I saw the ATTO SPORT, the first thing that stuck out was that this was an engineering marvel, not a millimeter of the scooter was wasted and every functionality that I could need was built into it. My immediate thoughts were that this product was made to give people the very best experience and reclaim their lives!
How has your ATTO scooter changed or improved your daily life?
Aside from making travel easier, which was the main purpose of it, the ability to go to a store and shop like I used to, and just get around is priceless.
What are your favorite features of your ATTO scooter?
The folding feature is not only mine, but everyone’s favorite feature. When I show people how it folds and go from riding the ATTO to pulling it in trolley mode in just seconds, the response is usually “I can’t believe it!”
I also love how bright the LED headlights are, really making it easy to see at night, the key fob to lock it and the cruise control.
The automatic breaking/slowdown is also amazing - I don’t think I ever even use the brakes!
Have you taken your ATTO scooter on any special trips or places where it made a big difference?
Honestly, it has a huge impact on everything that I do. For me in my everyday life, the ATTO SPORT is a game changer and has improved my ability to just be me. It has allowed me to visit and see Rome, Croatia, Greece, Munich and really explore. Without it, I would never have even had the ability to just go and enjoy my trip.
When I was out at a holiday market by Christmas one year, I saw another ATTO user. We started flashing our lights and honking at each other, kind of like a luxury car meetup. And we both were able to discuss how the scooter has given us this ability to enjoy the little things in life, like going to the outdoor holiday market.
What advice would you give to someone considering a mobility scooter, especially from Movinglife?
In 2020, I was living in Dubai and they had their big Expo that I wanted to attend, but as everything is in Dubai, it was a massive event and getting from end to end would be nearly impossible for me. So I looked into hiring a golf cart with a driver to take me around but I didn't want to be “that guy.” So after calling the Expo and being told I can rent a mobility scooter, despite my objections, I took it and after about 30 seconds, the stigma was gone and I was able to enjoy myself without even thinking twice about it.
People are often hesitant to get a mobility scooter because they think it makes them old or disabled. But really, it's just the opposite. The mobility scooters, especially ones with a look and design that are young and fresh like the ATTO, help you become part of humanity again.
When I did rehab in Germany to help me with my walking, I had the ATTO with me. At night, cruising around the rehab facility on the ATTO, I got looks from everyone and questions like “what is that?” Even those that need mobility solutions are blow away by the look and design of the ATTO.
There is no need to not go out with family or friends or take the trip you always wanted. You need to change your mindset from, “how can I function daily” to “how can I live the best life I have ever dreamed of?” The ATTO doesn't only make life easier for you, it enhances your life in ways you didn't even imagine.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your experience with Movinglife and your ATTO scooter?
When you look to buy a mobility scooter, there are lots of options on the market. It is important that you look at the full return on your investment. While the ATTO is not cheap, the peace of mind that it gives you, knowing that you will have an amazing trip and never have to think about the mobility challenges on your trip is priceless. The scooters from Movinglife provide you with that re-assurance and really set you free.
